PROSTEP is a leading member in the global IBM PDIF (Product Development Integration Framework) initiative. With this initiative, IBM and PROSTEP are pursuing an SOA-based strategy for PLM together. The objective of this initiative is the integration of business processes on the basis of the WebSphere middleware and the OpenPDM product suite as the solution for end-to-end product data management. This means that OpenPDM relies on a standard architecture with WebSphere as the application server within the framework of an OEM contract.
