PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) are two of the main system environments in many companies. Due to their different processes, ways of working and existing system solutions, full integration of both environments in one sytem is barely possible nor does it make sense.
However, the connection of PLM and ERP via defined processes and interfaces provides great value-added potential since a good portion of the PDM data and PDM work results provides the basis for ERP processes.
