Complex products, reduced time to market, increasing customer and classification requirements, and finally a world economy disturbed by Corona pandemic are just a few challenges all shipbuilders around the globe are facing today. Often, these very high demands cannot be sufficiently fulfilled by traditional infrastructure at shipyards.

  • How can a PDM system improve this situation?
  • What is the difference between PDM and PLM?
  • How does PDM relate to ERP?
  • How can traceability of decision processes be ensured?

These and many more questions will be addressed in our series of Shipbuilding PLM Insight episodes

22 June 2022 – Episode 4 SPECIAL: Live from Office – PLM Architecture

We`re pleased to recognize that shipbuilding industry is overcoming the economically consequences of the pandemic. Shipyards around the globe are becoming more active again. They are shaping their digitalization strategy and its implementation. In this context, we are happy to be part of several digitalization projects from North America to Australia, from strategy consulting to technical implementation & integration.

The topics of PLM architecture and information flow are central to these projects. The complexity of today’s PLM landscapes is increasing and the pandemic brings into focus the need for reliable information flow across locations and single source of truth. Therefore, we decided to do a special Episode on our daily work in the projects. We will share our experiences with different methodologies, provide actual examples from shipyard practices and show how Enterprise Architecture methods can be applied pragmatically to create a reliable foundation for PLM improvement and digitalization activities in industry.

We´re looking forward to welcome you “Live from Office”!
